Will a 2.1-2.4 GHz processor work with rambus RDRAM?
I am looking to upgrade my computer's processor. I recently bought RDRAM from ebay and in the post it said "Memory will work in all machines that accept rambus RDRAM Memory and the CPU speed is below 2.1 GHz and can take 256 MB per slot." Why does the CPU have to be below 2.1 GHz? I was thinking about getting the Intel Core 2 Duo T8100 / 2.1 GHz processor, will it work?
My Computer Currently:
Dell Dimension 8200 running on Windows XP
Intel Pentium 4 CPU 1.80 GHz, 1.00 GB of RDRAM
My RDRAM is Samsung PC800-45ns 256MB/16 ECC (4 of them)
MR18R082GAN1-CK8
Probably because socket 423 didn't go higher than that. Also, you wasted your money. RDRAM is rare and expensive. In an old turd like that, you'd have been better served by saving your money for a new computer.
